Trade Union calls on workers to carefully consider going back to their hometowns for the Tet holiday in Vietnam

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has just issued Official Dispatch 1612/TLD regarding the continued enhancement of measures to prevent and control Covid-19 and to take care of the Tet holiday for union members and workers in Vietnam.

The Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requests the continued implementation of the following contents:

- Strictly implement Covid-19 prevention measures based on the directives of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam, local authorities, sectors, general corporations, and units; maintain high vigilance and absolutely avoid complacency; continue to deeply instill the motto "fight the epidemic like fighting the enemy";

- In places where union activities must be suspended, such as: Tet Reunion, Spring Ride of Compassion, Compassionate Ticket, Workers' Market, visits and gifts for union workers at all levels... appropriate forms should be used to care for workers, such as transferring money, Tet gifts directly to workers, bank transfers... ensuring timely and absolute safety;

- Unions at all levels should proactively propagate, mobilize, and call on workers, public employees, and laborers to carefully consider returning home for Tet, especially in areas having Covid-19 cases either where they are departing from or arriving at, and to choose the option of staying to celebrate Tet locally;
