To thoroughly resolve inequities in university admissions processes in Vietnam

On August 23, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 4606/BGDDT-GDDH regarding the implementation of duties for the 2024-2025 academic year for higher education and teacher training colleges. The Official Dispatch includes a directive to enhance the application of artificial intelligence throughout the entire higher education system in Vietnam.

To thoroughly resolve inequities in university admissions processes in Vietnam

The Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has outlined 08 specific tasks for educational institutions including:

- Perfecting the development strategy, consolidating the organizational structure, enhancing governance capacity, and promoting university autonomy in accordance with the guidelines of the Communist Party and the policies and laws of the State.

- Strengthening training, attracting, and developing the contingent of lecturers, especially for STEM fields and other key industries; focusing on training and enhancing core competencies for lecturers.

- Completing the 2024 admissions work in a conformable manner; perfecting admissions methods from 2025 to ensure quality and fairness, meeting the requirements of renewing the curriculum and teaching methods of general education.

- Innovating and modernizing the curriculum and training methods to better meet the demand for high-quality human resources in the labor market and the diverse learning needs of learners in the new context.

- Promoting scientific research, technological development, and innovative creation linked with high-level training and enhancing the capacity of the lecturer team, emphasizing quality and social impact.

- Enhancing the effectiveness of quality management at training institutions, fully implementing accountability associated with strengthening inspection, examination, and supervision.

- Effectively implementing and continuously preparing the conditions for task implementation according to the action programs of the Government of Vietnam and strategies, projects, and plans approved by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

- Proactively and collaboratively improving communication work, policy orientation, and increasing social confidence in the development of higher education, and enhancing the role of higher education in national, regional, and local development.
