To suspend the receipt of petitions and citizens directly at the court in Vietnam

Recently, the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 125/TANDTC-VP dated 11/5/2021 on continuing prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic.

According to the Official Dispatch, the issued regulations which take effect from 0:00 on May 12, 2021 to the end of 24 hours on May 31, 2021 in Vietnam are as follows:

- To suspend the receipt of lawsuit petitions, documents, and evidence; to suspend receiving citizens directly at the headquarters of the Court.

- The Court shall notify and guide agencies, organizations, and individuals to exercise their rights and perform their obligations through other methods such as: sending to the Court through the postal service; submitting online electronically through the Court's Portal.

- The court shall only summon procedure-conducting people and procedure participants to attend court sessions or meetings; not organize receptions of citizens or guests at the court's headquarters, unless absolutely necessary.

- To prioritize the trial and settlement of cases related to the election of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels in Vietnam; cases serving local political tasks; and serious cases of public interest

- The trial of cases related to COVID-19 shall continue to follow the regulations in Vietnam's Official Dispatch 45/TANDTC-PC dated March 30, 2020.
