To strictly handle officials who ask to present household registration books when doing administrative procedures in Vietnam

On February 28, 2023, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued the Official Telegram 90/CD-TTg on the rectification of the implementation of regulations related to the removal of household registration books and paper temporary residence books.

According to Vietnam's Official Telegram 90/CD-TTg, the Prime Minister of Vietnam directed all departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, communes, and one-stop shops at all levels to waive the requirement that people present household registration books and temporary residence books when performing online reception and settlement of administrative procedures and public services.

Strengthen the review and inspection processes and strictly handle cadres, civil servants, and public employees who violate the above regulations according to their competence;

At the same time, it is requested that the ministers, the heads of the ministerial-level agencies, the People's Committees of the provinces, and the centrally run cities directly and expeditiously complete the connection, implement process restructuring, and complete internal processes to implement:

Exploiting and using information in the National Population Database to serve administrative procedures, without requiring people to present or submit paper household registration books or temporary residence books while the population data is already connected, share it with the National Population Database. Completed in the first quarter of 2023.
