Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Notice 1229/TB-BLDTBXH dated April 7, 2023 on the situation of occupational accidents in 2022.
Specifically, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam asked the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to direct the local authorities to strengthen the organization of occupational accident investigations for employees working without employment contracts.
At the same time, the Ministry also requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct local functional agencies to perform other tasks such as:
- Strengthen inspection and examination of the observance of regulations on occupational safety and hygiene by enterprises in the area, especially in areas with high risk of occupational accidents and serious incidents; pay attention to the construction of safe working procedures and measures at the enterprise; report occupational accidents according to the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene;
- Strengthen the organization of the propagation and dissemination of knowledge and legislation on occupational safety and health suitable to each field and industry; give priority to the propagation and dissemination of the law on occupational safety and health to employees working without employment contracts;
- Strengthen the implementation of occupational accident prevention with support from the social insurance fund on occupational accidents and diseases and report to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam ;
- Organize and guide the People's Committees of districts and communes in making statistics and reporting occupational accidents for people working without employment contracts; make a record of occupational accident records for employees who do not work under employment contracts.
In addition, businesses across the country also need to strengthen the implementation of occupational safety and sanitation, focusing on self-inspection activities;
Actively control and prevent dangerous and harmful factors at the enterprise, prevent occupational accidents caused by high falls, electric shock, falling objects, and collapse; organize training on occupational safety and health for employees.
