On April 12, 2022, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 25/2022/ND-CP amending and supplementing Decree 47/2011 /ND-CP on the implementation of some contents of Postal Law.
According to the regulations in Vietnam, from the date of receiving the application for a postal license, the grant of a postal license and a written certification of the notice of postal activities shall be effected within the following time limit:
- 20 days for postal verification and licensing; (30 days is the current rule)
- 10 working days for verification and issuance of written confirmation of notice of postal activities.
Thus, from June 1, 2022, the time limit for granting a postal license will be shortened to 20 days instead of the current 30 days as in the current regulations.
In addition,Vietnam's Decree 25/2022/ND-CP also amends the method of submitting an application for a postal license, specifically:
Any enterprise or organization in Vietnam applying for issuance of a postal license or written confirmation of postal activity notification shall submit an application through the online public service system to the postal authority and take responsibility for its legitimacy, accuracy and truthfulness (Current regulations apply in person or by sending documents by post.)
