To research suspicious transaction signals related to gambling and gambling organization activities in Vietnam is the notable point specified in Directive 16/CT-TTg dated May 27, 2023 on strengthening prevention and fighting against crimes and violations of laws related to gambling and gambling activities, promulgated by the Prime Minister.

To research suspicious transaction signals related to gambling and gambling organization activities in Vietnam

In order to strengthen the prevention and fight against crime and law violations related to gambling and gambling organization activities, to ensure security and order, the Prime Minister requests the State Bank of Vietnam to do the following:

- Coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam to study signs of suspicious transactions related to gambling and gambling activities;

- Research, review, amend, and supplement regulations to facilitate the development of non-cash payments, the application of technology in product development, and banking services associated with ensuring security, safety, and confidentiality in banking activities;

- Direct credit institutions, foreign bank branches, and payment intermediary service providers to coordinate with units of the Ministry of Public Security, ministries, and branches in the prevention and fight against crimes and violations of laws related to gambling and gambling activities quickly and in a timely manner;

Strengthen the review and detection of suspicious transactions to take measures to handle and provide information to the Ministry of Public Security for the fight and handling; proactively review, detect, and coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to strictly handle acts of renting, leasing, borrowing, lending, buying and selling, opening bank accounts, and e-wallets on behalf of them;

- Coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and relevant ministries and branches in Vietnam to assess inadequacies and propose solutions in order to improve the effectiveness of the prevention and handling of suspicious transactions with signs related to gambling and gambling activities.
