This is the content at Decision 1286/QĐ-TTg on October 25, 2022, approving the Program to ensure the supply of vaccines for vaccination until 2030, promulgated by the Prime Minister of Vietnam.
In particular, the goal is to ensure the supply of vaccines for vaccination by 2030 in Vietnam as follows:
- Satisfy the demand for vaccines against infectious diseases that are required to be deployed in the Expanded Immunization Program; vaccines used for service immunization; and vaccines used in disease prevention and control.
- By 2025: Mastering the technology of producing 10 vaccines; Produce at least 03 vaccines, including a 5-in-1 combination vaccine to prevent diseases: Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Haemophilus Influenzae (Hib) and either Polio or Hepatitis B.
- By 2030: Master the technology to produce 15 types of vaccines; Produce at least 05 types of vaccines; domestically produced vaccines must meet standards equivalent to international standards.
The Prime Minister of Vietnam also proposed a number of solutions to mechanisms and policies to implement the program as follows:
- Research and issue specific mechanisms, priorities, and incentives for the research and production of vaccines, especially for vaccines against emerging, dangerous, and highly infectious diseases; new vaccines that are not available in Vietnam; combination vaccines; vaccines against diseases that have not been implemented in the Expanded Program on Immunization;
- Propose to develop regulations related to circulation licensing, bidding, procurement, supply, and use of vaccines for effective implementation.
