Below is the remarkable content specified in Vietnam's Decision 112/QD-TTg on the social work development program 2021-2030 issued on January 22, 2021.

In order to achieve the goal of equitable and effective social development, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision 112/QD-TTg on the social work development program for the period 2021–2030 (including two phases: from 2021 to 2025 and from 2026 to 2030). In particular, the specific goals to be implemented from 2021 to 2025 in Vietnam are as follows:

  • Reach 60% of agencies, organizations, social support establishments, drug addiction treatment establishments, prisons, reformatories, and other organizations to assign and arrange personnel to do social work, including at least 1 to 2 cadres, civil servants, public employees, and social workers with full-time titles and a monthly allowance equal to the basic salary;
  • At least 30% of officials and civil servants, social workers, and collaborators are working in communes, wards, townships, establishments providing social work services, prisons, and educational schools.... be trained and fostered to improve professional qualifications;

  • To ensure that at least 85% of orphans, abandoned children, HIV/AIDS patients, victims of toxic chemicals, severely disabled children, and children affected by natural disasters and epidemics receive social assistance and appropriate social work services in Vietnam.
