Time to supervise the reduction of prison sentence serving time

On January 18, 2022, the Supreme People's Procuracy issued Decision 05/QD-VKSTC promulgating the Regulations on the process of supervising the consideration of reduction of the prison term and the supervision of the conditional release of prison before the time limit.

Accordingly, the regulations on subjects and time to supervise the preparation of dossiers of request for reduction of the prison term are as follows:

- Objects of supervision: prisons, detention camps; criminal judgment execution agency of the provincial-level police department; military zone-level criminal judgment execution agency.

- Time of inspection: It is carried out immediately after the Council considers and proposes to reduce the prison sentence serving term of prisons and detention camps affiliated to the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, and the criminal judgment execution agency of the Public Security. At the provincial level, the criminal judgment execution agency at the military zone level shall complete the dossier and list of requests for reduction of the prison term, signed by the Council chairperson, to report on the appraisal request in each period of time reduction consideration. serve an annual prison sentence (on the occasion of April 30, the occasion of September 2 and the occasion of the Lunar New Year, or the period of December 22 for the consideration of reducing the serving prison term in the army).

Decision 05/QD-VKSTC takes effect from January 18, 2022.
