On March 30, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Trade promulgated Circular 03/2018/TT-BCT stipulating the principles for administering import tariff quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2018.

The total tariff rate quota for the import of non-fertilized eggs (chicken eggs, duck eggs, geese eggs, other types of eggs) is 52,553 dozen. Specifically, for salt products, the import quota is 110,000 tons.

The principle of allocation of the aforementioned tariff rate quota is implemented in accordance with the regulations stated in Circular 04/2014/TT-BCT. The subjects of allocation include:

- Allocation of salt products to traders directly using salt as raw materials for the production of chemicals and as raw materials for the production of medicine and medical products;- Allocation of poultry eggs to traders with a Certificate of Business Registration/Certificate of Enterprise Registration with import demand.

Circular 03/2018/TT-BCT takes effect from May 14, 2018, until the end of December 31, 2018.
