Unannounced inspections on medical examination and treatment activities during the holiday for Lunar New Year in 2025 in Vietnam

The Ministry of Health requires the units to properly implement the following tasks:

- Ensure the implementation of a four-level duty system: leadership on duty, hotline information handling; professional duty; administrative - logistical duty and security - self-defense duty. Post the list of on-duty staff in each department and office.

- Organize the provision of emergency care and medical treatment for patients: reserve adequate medicines, blood, infusion fluids, and necessary equipment to serve emergency care and treatment, especially for traffic accidents and food poisoning. Be ready to accommodate patients in the event of an outbreak. Ensure that all emergency patients are promptly examined and treated, not to refuse or delay handling. Adhere to professional classification; if initially inappropriate, provide initial stabilization and fully explain to the patient and their relatives before transferring them to another medical facility. Strictly follow technical expertise procedures, be prepared to provide technical support to lower levels, and consult with higher levels when necessary. Pay special attention to improving the service attitude towards patients, engaging in courteous and kind communication.

- Have contingency plans for accidents, poisoning, mass emergencies that may occur: warn the public about common Lunar New Year holiday risks, such as trampling accidents at crowded tourist sites, traffic accidents due to alcohol consumption, altercations due to alcohol, firecracker explosions, homemade explosive devices, and food poisoning.

- Organize visits and Lunar New Year celebrations for patients still undergoing treatment in hospitals during Lunar New Year: pay attention to poor patients and those under policy beneficiary categories.

Particularly, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam will conduct sudden inspections of the preparation work and on-call operations of a number of hospitals/institutions with hospital beds directly under the Ministry and hospitals in localities before and during Lunar New Year.
