On July 07 2021, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch No. 5378/BYT-KHTC on guidelines for payment of COVID-19 testing costs.
According to the Official Dispatch No. 5378/BYT-KHTC, the price of rapid testing is applicable according to guidelines in Section VI of the Official Dispatch No. 4356/BYT-KH-TC dated May 28 2021. To be specific:
Before July 01, 2021:
- Health insurance beneficiaries: a price of VND 238.000 is applicable according to guidelines in Official Dispatch No. 4068/BYT-KHTC dated July 30 2020.
- For those not using health insurance: the price approved by the competent authority and no more than VND 238.000 according to Official Dispatch No. 5834/BYT-KHTC dated October 27 2020.
From 1/7/2021, pay for actually incurred costs. To be specific:
- For costs related to sample collection and test result announcement such as costs of consumables, power and water and remuneration: healthcare facilities shall cover these costs according to existing decentralization of state budget for funding for epidemic prevention and control.
- For testing costs: these costs shall be paid as actually incurred for each patient according to the number of rapid tests actually used for the patient and purchase price of the tests determined by bidding and approved by the competent authority as prescribed by law.
