The Ministry of Construction to amend fire safety standards for houses and buildings in Vietnam

From December 1, 2023, contents related to national technical regulations on fire safety for houses and buildings will be implemented according to the provisions of QCVN 06:2022/BXD and Amendments to 1:2023 QCVN 06:2022/BXD.

Note: Amendment 1:2023 QCVN 06:2022/BXD only includes amendments and supplements to some regulations of QCVN 06:2022/BXD. For contents not mentioned in this Amendment 1, QCVN 06:2022/BXD, issued together with Circular 06/2022/TT-BXD continues to apply.

Regarding construction design documents when Circular 09/2023/TT-BXD takes effect:

- Construction design documents have been completed and approved by the competent state management agency.
before Circular 09/2023/TT-BXD takes effect, continue to be implemented according to approved design documents.

- Construction design documents that have written comments and responses on fire prevention and fighting design at the basic design step from the competent state management agency, but the design for fire prevention and fighting has not been approved yet. Before Circular 09/2023/TT-BXD takes effect, the design will continue to be approved according to the written comments and responses.

- Construction design documents that have not been commented on and approved for fire prevention and fighting designs by competent state management agencies since the effective date of Circular 09/2023/TT-BXD must comply with the provisions of QCVN 06:2022/BXD and Amendment 1:2023 QCVN 06:2022/BXD.

** Amending 1:2023 QCVN 06:2022/BXD, chaired by the Institute of Construction Science and Technology (Ministry of Construction), Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), the Police Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue (Hanoi City Police), and the Police Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue (Ho Chi Minh City Police) coordinated to compile, the Department of Science, Technology, and Environment (Ministry of Construction) submits for approval, the Ministry of Science and Technology appraises, and the Ministry of Construction promulgates together with Circular 09/2023/TT-BXD.

Circular 09/2023/TT-BXD takes effect on December 1, 2023.
