Telecommunications enterprises obligated to handle SIM with inaccurate information in Vietnam 

Specifically, the Law on Telecommunications 2023 requires telecommunications enterprises providing services without network infrastructures to verify, store, and use information of telecommunications subscribers and handle SIM with inaccurate or inadequate information on telecommunications subscribers. 

(Previously, the Law on Telecommunications 2009 also required the obligation mentioned above)

Additionally, telecommunications enterprises providing services without network infrastructures shall: 

- Carry out financial contributions to the Vietnam Public Telecommunications Service Fund as prescribed by laws; 

- Take responsibility for service quality according to the disclosed or registered standard; ensure the correct, sufficient, and accurate determination of service prices according to telecommunications service provision and use contracts;

- Be under the control of competent state authorities and comply with regulations on safety assurance of telecommunication infrastructures and information security; 

- Submit periodic or irregular reports on telecommunications operations according to regulations of the Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam; take responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of reporting contents and figures;

- Adopt measures to prevent connection, IP addresses, domains, and other preventive measures for the telecommunications equipment system, telecommunications services, and telecommunications application services used for acts prescribed in Clause 1 Article 9 of the Law on Telecommunications 2023 upon written requests from competent state authorities as prescribed by laws; 

- Prepare schemes to be ready for technical connections for online reports on figures meeting the requirements for state management of telecommunications as prescribed by the Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam; 

- Prevent illegal messages and calls according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam;

- Terminate the provision of telecommunications for telecommunications subscribers violating telecommunications laws;
