On January 16, 2023, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued Resolution 06/NQ-DCT< /a> on supporting trade union members, employees whose working time is reduced, employment contracts terminated due to business cuts or orders reduction.

According to Vietnam's Resolution 06/NQ-DCT, the level of support for 3 groups of workers who lose their jobs and reduce working hours ranges from 1 to 3 million VND/person in Vietnam.

For example, an employee who is a trade union member and who terminates his/her labor contract from October 1, 2022, to the end of March 31, 2023, but is not eligible for unemployment benefits, is entitled to a one-time subsidy of VND 3 million/person

The above support level in Vietnam does not apply in cases where the employee illegally terminates the labor contract unilaterally, is disciplined for dismissal, agrees on the probation content stated in the labor contract but the probationary period fails to meet the requirements, or one party cancels the agreement on probation, monthly pension, or loss of working capacity.

The time to receive dossiers is no later than March 31, 2023, and the time to complete support procedures for trade union members and employees is no later than May 30, 2023.

More details can be found in Vietnam's Resolution 06/NQ-DCT, effective from January 16, 2023.
