Submission to the Government of Vietnam for consideration of reduction in the environmental protection tax on petrol and oil in 2024 in October 2023 is specified in the Resolution 164/NQ-CP dated October 04, 2023, regarding the regular meeting of the Government of Vietnam in September 2023.
The Government of Vietnam requests the Ministry of Finance to take the lead and cooperate with relevant agencies and local authorities to urgently complete the dossier to report to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam for consideration and retention of the application of the environmental protection tax rates on petrol, oil, and lubricants as stipulated in Resolution 30/2022/UBTVQH15 in 2024, to submit it to the Government of Vietnam in October 2023.
Additionally, the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam is also required to take the lead and cooperate with relevant agencies and local authorities to perform the following tasks:
- Propose to the National Assembly of Vietnam to continue reducing value-added tax by 2% in the first 6 months of 2024 and authorize the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam to decide the interim between two sessions of the National Assembly of Vietnam if the economic situation and businesses are still facing difficulties, to report to the National Assembly of Vietnam in the nearest session, and report to the Prime Minister of Vietnam before October 7, 2023.
- Actively cooperate with relevant bodies of the National Assembly of Vietnam to report and explain to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam on the plan to utilize the increased revenue of the central budget in 2022; urgently implement the plan after being approved by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Vietnam.
- Based on the proposals from ministries, agencies, and local authorities regarding fee and charge policies encouraging citizens and businesses to use online public services (such as zero fees or 50% reduction in fees and charges when using online public services, applicable until the end of 2025), the Ministry of Finance should study, propose, and report to the Prime Minister of Vietnam in October 2023…
