Structure of the National Remote Sensing Database

On June 6, 2017, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment promulgated Circular 09/2017/TT-BTNMT regulating the technical construction and updating of the national remote sensing database.

The national remote sensing database consists of the following two component databases:

- National remote sensing metadata database: Contains a collection of remote sensing metadata information at remote sensing image reception stations in Vietnam or in the form of purchases, exchanges, cooperations, or foreign aid;- National remote sensing image database: Contains raw image data and remote sensing image products submitted to the national remote sensing database.

According to regulations, the national remote sensing database must be fully backed up using three methods: full backup, incremental backup, and differential backup.

For details on the structure of the national remote sensing database, refer to the accompanying Appendix of Circular 09/2017/TT-BTNMT, effective from July 24, 2017.
