Striving to 2025: At least 80% of communes in Vietnam will meet new rural standards

Vietnam's Resolution 25/2021/QH15 sets the following objectives by 2025

- Striving for Vietnam to have at least 80% of communes meet new rural standards, of which at least 10% of communes will meet model new rural standards, no more communes will meet less than 15 criteria;

Continuing to build advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas for communes, districts, and provinces that have been recognized as meeting new rural standards;

The average income of rural people will increase at least 1.5 times compared to 2020.

- Striving for Vietnam to have at least 50% of districts, towns, and cities in the province meet new rural standards and complete the task of building new rural areas. In which at least 20% of districts that meet the standards are recognized as newly enhanced rural districts and model new rural districts.

Each province and city directly under Central Government control has at least two district-level units that meet new rural standards.

- Striving for Vietnam to have at least 15 provinces and centrally run cities recognized for completing the task of building new rural areas;

- Striving for 60% of villages, hamlets, phum, and squirrels (hereinafter referred to as hamlets) belonging to communes with special difficulties in border areas, mountainous areas, coastal areas, and islands to meet new rural standards according to the new rural criteria prescribed by the provincial People's Committee in Vietnam.

Vietnam's Resolution 25/2021/QH15 enters into force on September 11, 2021.
