On August 14, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 4327/BGDDT-GDTH regarding the enhancement of instruction on implementing several key contents for the 2024-2025 school year in Vietnam
To promptly, practically, and effectively implement tasks for the 2024-2025 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that the People's Committees of provinces and cities under central authority strengthen their directive on implementing the following contents:
- Direct review, inspection, and the urge to ensure adequate educational infrastructure and equipment before the new school year; promptly address the local disparities in the structure of the teaching staff under their jurisdiction; to flexibly arrange and allocate teachers to ensure sufficient numbers and uniformity in structure, especially for subjects such as English, Information Technology, Music, and Art.
In case of inability to recruit enough teachers according to the standard, implement measures to contract teachers following Decree 111/2022/ND-CP to implement the policy "where there are students, there must be teachers" in accordance with the local actual conditions.
- Implement solutions to enhance state management responsibility to comply with regulations on financial management, publicly disclose financial revenues and expenditures from the beginning of the school year; regarding the selection, provision, and use of textbooks, local educational materials, and reference materials.
Develop and implement plans to support students from poor and near-poor households, students under policy categories, students in difficult, vulnerable circumstances, remote areas, isolated regions, ethnic minority regions, ensuring they have sufficient textbooks, school supplies, and other essential conditions; ensure no student is prevented from attending school due to difficult circumstances.
- Direct the full implementation of the content and criteria for building safe schools, preventing accidents and injuries in preschool, general education, and continuing education institutions; strengthen coordination between family - school - society to organize the care, nurturing, management, and education of children and students inside and outside schools to ensure safety and effectiveness, particularly in preventing school accidents and violence, and mental health care for students right from the beginning of the school year.
