Strengthening quality assurance and food safety of agricultural products during the Lunar New Year in Vietnam

According to the Directive No. 9294/CT-BNN-QLCL, in order to ensure the quality and safety of agro-forestry-fishery food before, during and after the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2021, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam proposed the Chairmans of People's Committees of central-affiliated provinces and cities:

- Directing and strengthening propaganda, dissemination, guidance and supervision of organizations and individuals engaged in agro-forestry-fishery production and trading in full compliance with regulations on ensuring food hygiene and safety; guiding people to identify products of clear origin, ensure food quality and safety etc. promoting the introduction and advertisement of products, and address to sell quality and safe products for consumers to know and choose;

- Direct the strengthening of supervision, inspection and examination of establishments producing, preliminarily processing, slaughtering, processing and trading agro-forestry-fishery products; products that are consumed a lot on this occasion such as meat, sausages, seafood, vegetables, fruits etc. to promptly detect, handle and apply all forms of administrative sanctions and publicly announce information about violating establishments;

- Direct the organization to receive and handle seriously and fully according to regulations and timely inform incidents of agricultural, forestry and fishery products that are unsafe for food (if occurring in the locality).
