Strengthening measures to prevent and control epidemics during the Lunar New Year in Vietnam

This is a notable content of the Directive No. 26/CT-BYT dated December 31, 2020 on strengthening measures for disease prevention and control and ensuring medical work during the Lunar New Year 2021 in Vietnam.

According to the Directive No. 26/CT-BYT, in order to well implement the organization of Tan Suu New Year 2021, which is joyful, healthy, safe, thrifty and to ensure disease safety, especially in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam proposes that the Departments of Health of central-affiliated provinces and cities must focus on performing the following epidemic prevention and control tasks:

- Carrying out the peak period of Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control; strengthen inspection and supervision of conditions and procedures for entry and medical quarantine in order to detect and handle the first cases immediately, preventing the epidemic from spreading;

- Continue to direct affiliated units to strictly implement the contents of Official Dispatch No. 1699/CĐ-TTg dated December 02, 2020;

- Strengthen inspection and supervision of the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic; coordinate with functional agencies to handle violating organizations and individuals in accordance with the Decree No. 117/2020/NĐ-CP dated September 28, 2020;

- Assign officials to be on duty 24/24 during the Tet holiday to monitor and report immediately when an epidemic occurs in the area;

- Coordinate with media agencies to propagate the 5K message of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam: Masks - Disinfection - Distance - Uncentralized - Medical declaration;

- etc.
