Statistical indicator system in the education sector in Vietnam from May 3, 2024

The Statistical indicator system in the education sector in Vietnam is a collection of statistical indicators to gather statistical information serving the tasks of assessment, forecasting, strategy planning, policy development, and building development plans for the education sector; meeting the needs for the exchange and sharing of educational statistical information according to the provisions of the Law on Statistics and the guiding documents of the Law on Statistics; it serves as the basis for constructing statistical reporting policies for the education sector.

The Statistical indicator system in the education sector in Vietnam includes:

- The list of statistical indicators for the education sector as stipulated in Appendix I issued together with Circular 03/2024/TT-BGDDT. Specifically, with the following groups and names of indicators:

+ Indicators on preschool education, including Nursery, Kindergarten;

+ Indicators on General Education, including: Primary, Secondary, and High School;

+ Indicators on Continuing Education;

+ Indicators on Other Education, including Pre-University, Education for People with Disabilities; and Training in preschool education at the College level;

+ Indicators on Higher Education;

+ Indicators on Finance.

- The content of statistical indicators for the education sector as specified in Appendix II issued together with Circular 03/2024/TT-BGDDT.

Circular 03/2024/TT-BGDDT applies to ministries, central agencies directly managing higher education institutions, institutions providing undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, pedagogical colleges, colleges offering preschool education at the College level, pre-university schools; Provincial and municipal People's Committees under the central authority;

Departments of Education and Training; Divisions of Education and Training; preschool institutions, general education institutions, continuing education institutions, higher education institutions, institutions providing undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, pedagogical colleges, colleges offering preschool education at the college level, pre-university schools, and related agencies, organizations, units, and individuals.

More details can be found in Circular 03/2024/TT-BGDDT, effective from May 3, 2024, and replacing Circular 19/2017/TT-BGDDT dated July 28, 2017.
