Standards for use of working area and residential area of overseas Vietnamese ambassadors

Decree No. 166/2017/NĐ-CP provides for standards, norms and requirements for management and use of public property of overseas Vietnamese bodies.

According to Decree No. 166/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, standards and norms for use of working area and residential area, office equipment and machinery and automobile of overseas Vietnamese ambassadors are specified as follows:

- Working area: maximum 40 - 50 m2/person;

- Residential area: maximum 110 - 120 m2/person;

- Working desk and chair set: 01 set;

- File cabinet: 01 piece;

- Computer or laptop: 01 piece/set;

- Automobiles used for duty performance: 01 automobile priced at up to USD 65.000/automobile.

Note: Prices in public property use norms provided above shall include taxes required according to regulations of the host country and exclude premium, charges and other payments related to public property use.

Decree No. 166/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government officially applies from January 01, 2018, annuls Decree No. 23/2010/NĐ-CP, Decision No. 08/2012/QĐ-TTg, Decision No. 30/2010/QĐ-TTg and Circular No. 341/2016/TT-BTC.
