Standards for technical labor safety inspectors under the Ministry of Industry and Trade as of December 20, 2023 in Vietnam

From December 20, 2023, labor safety technical inspection inspectors under the Ministry of Industry and Trade must meet the standards specified in Article 9 of Decree 44/2016/ND-CP and Article 2 of Decree 140/2018/ND-CP, specifically as follows:

- Have a university degree or higher in a technical major suitable to the subject of inspection;

- Have at least 2 years of experience working as an inspection technician or in the design, production, installation, repair, operation, and maintenance of inspection objects;

- Have completed training courses and tests to meet requirements on technical inspection of occupational safety with inspected subjects or has conducted inspection of inspected subjects for more than 10 years as of the time Decree 44/2016/ND-CP takes effect.

Currently in Circular 09/2017/TT-BCT, in addition to meeting the above conditions, it also ensures the experience and expertise of inspectors according to each group of inspection subjects as follows:

- For group A: University graduate majoring in thermal, mechanical, electromechanical, or equivalent with experience in testing, designing, manufacturing, installing, repairing, operating, and maintaining power plant boilers for at least 02 years.

- For groups B and C: University graduate majoring in thermal, mechanical, electromechanical, or equivalent with experience in testing, designing, manufacturing, installing, repairing, operating, and maintaining group B and C equipment for at least 02 years .

- For group D: Graduated from university majoring in thermal, mechanical, electromechanical, or equivalent with experience in testing, designing, and manufacturing group D equipment for at least 02 years.

- For group E: University degree in mechanical engineering, electromechanics, or equivalent with experience in testing, designing, manufacturing, installing, repairing, operating, and maintaining group E equipment for at least 02 years.

- For group G: Graduated from university majoring in mechanical, electrical, construction machinery, automation, or equivalent with experience in testing, designing, manufacturing, installing, repairing, operating, and maintaining group G equipment for at least 02 years.

- For group H: Graduated from university majoring in electricity, automation, mechanics, electromechanics, or equivalent with experience in testing, designing, manufacturing, installing, repairing, operating, and maintaining group H equipment for at least 02 years.

- For group I: University graduate majoring in electricity, automation, electromechanics, or equivalent with experience in testing, designing, and manufacturing group I equipment for at least 02 years.

Circular 18/2023/TT-BCT takes effect on December 20, 2023.
