Standards for kindergarten library activities in Vietnam

On November 22, 2022, the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular 16/2022/TT-BGDDT on library standards for preschool and general education institutions.

According to Vietnam's Circular 16/2022/TT-BGDDT, standards for kindergarten library activities are divided into levels 1 and 2.

In particular, the standard of library operation for kindergarten level 1 is as follows:

- Look up and borrow natural resources.

+ The information resource lookup system is directly implemented at the library, ensuring easy and convenient data search and retrieval.

+ The loan and return system is implemented in the form of vouchers or other forms appropriate to the library's organizational conditions.

- Library activities include:

+ Activities to introduce, guide rule implementation, and utilize the library.

+ Activities that encourage, form, and develop reading habits.

+ Activities that encourage learning and connection.

+ Interactive activities and professional development for teachers

+ Library connection: comply with the provisions of Article 5 of Vietnam's Circular 16/2022/TT-BGDDT.

In addition, the standard of library operation in kindergarten level 2 can be found in Vietnam's Circular 16/2022/TT-BGDDT.

Vietnam's Circular 16/2022/TT-BGDDT takes effect on January 7, 2023, replacing Vietnam's Decision 01/2003/QD-BGDDT and Decision 01/2004/QD-BGDDT.
