On August 14, 2017, the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV) issued Decision 08/2017/QD-SAV promulgating the Regulation on the use of SAV collaborators.

Standards and conditions for an individual to become a collaborator of the SAV are as follows:

Standards:

- Having ethics, a sense of responsibility, honesty, and objectivity; no criminal record or prior convictions;- Having high professional qualifications and skills suitable to the work requirements of the SAV;- Having at least 5 years of continuous work experience;- Holding degrees, certificates, or professional licenses related to the work of the SAV.

Conditions:

- The collaborator is not part of the staffing or labor contract of the SAV. In the three years immediately preceding and at the time of signing the service contract, there should have been no violation of the law.- The collaborator participating in the audit must not be in any of the following cases:- Not allowed to be assigned as a member of the Audit Team as stipulated in Article 28 of the Law on State Audit; and- Participating in advising the audited unit or other work that affects the independence and objectivity in performing their duties.

Decision 08/2017/QD-KTNN is effective from September 28, 2017.
