Social protection beneficiaries eligible for monthly social benefits in Vietnam from July 1, 2021

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 20/2021/ND-CP on social support policies for social protection beneficiaries.

According to Vietnam's Decree 20/2021/ND-CP, social protection beneficiaries eligible for monthly social benefits in Vietnam are as follows:

  • Children who are under 16 years of age, receiving no nurture;
  • Individuals under Clause 1 of Article 5 of Decree 20 who are receiving monthly benefits, of 16 years of age and pursuing formal education, vocational education, professional secondary education, college education or first higher education degrees;

  • Children living in poor households and contracted HIV/AIDS;  Individuals contracted HIV/AIDS, living in poor households and having no stable monthly income namely salary, wage, pension, social security benefit, monthly social security;

  • Poor single parent raising children;

  • Disabled children and disabled people are entitled to social allowances in accordance with the law on disabled people;
