On June 20, 2017, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 75/2017/NĐ-CP defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of Ministry of Health, replacingDecree No. 63/2012/NĐ-CP.
New organizational structure of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam currently has only 23 affiliated organizations and administrative units instead of 24 organizations and administrative units as before.
Change in the organizational structure of the Ministry of Health is shown as follows:
- General Office For Population And Family Planning is changed to General Office for Population;
- Journal of Practical Medicine and Journal of Pharmacology merged into Journal of Medicine and Pharmacy;
- The number of divisions in the Department of Planning and Finance has been reduced from 7 divisions to 5 divisions;
- Specifying the number of divisions of Departments and Offices. To be specific:
+ HIV/AIDS Prevention Agency may organize 03 divisions and an office;
+ Agency of Food Safety may organize 05 divisions and an office;
+ Agency of Health Examination and Treatment may organize 05 divisions and an office.
