Scope of high school knowledge in vocational education institutions in Vietnam

On November 8, 2022, the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular 15/2022/TT-BGDDT on scope of high school cultural knowledge taught in vocational education institutions.

According to Vietnam's Circular 15/2022/TT-BGDDT, the scope of high school cultural knowledge for subjects in vocational education institutions in Vietnam is regulated as follows:

* Subjects:

Compulsory subjects: mathematics, literature, and history.

- Selected subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, and geography.

* Scope of knowledge of the subject:

The duration of the courses is as follows:

+ Math and Literature: 252 periods each.

+ Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, and History: 168 periods per subject.

- Appendix I to Circular 15/2022/TT-BGDDT lists the scope of knowledge on the subject.

At the same time, Circular 15/2022/TT-BGDDT stipulates the following subjects according to training disciplines and occupations:

- Each training discipline is required to study mandatory subjects as well as at least one elective subject as specified in Article 5 of Circular 15/2022/TT-BGDDT.

- The head of the vocational education institution shall decide on the selection of subjects that are suitable for the training industry or profession.

Vietnam's Circular 15/2022/TT-BGDDT takes effect on December 24, 2022.
