Review of care and nurture facilities and social activities related to children in Vietnam

On October 14, 2024, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam issued Decision 1183/QD-TTg regarding the Plan to implement Directive 28-CT/TW on strengthening the work of caring for, educating, and protecting children to meet the requirements of developing a prosperous and happy country.

Review of care and nurture facilities and social activities related to children in Vietnam

For the task of “Enhancing the effectiveness of state management, creating synchronization in the implementation of policies and laws on childcare, education, and protection of children in Vietnam,” the following contents have been set forth:

- Strengthen the state management apparatus concerning children; enhance capabilities, ethics, responsibility, implement decentralization, delegation of authority, coordination, and inter-sectoral collaboration among agencies, units, and individuals involved in the care, education, and protection of children in Vietnam.

- Intensify inspection and supervision of the implementation of the law on children, review care facilities, social, charitable activities, and other activities related to children; prevent, deter, and rigorously deal with, promptly, acts of harm, violence, abandonment, trafficking, abuse, incitement, and provocation against children and other prohibited acts.

- Engage in international cooperation and integration, participate, and promote the role of an active member in implementing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, global and regional movements concerning the implementation and protection of children's rights in Vietnam.

The implementation of the above contents must ensure regular and effective cooperation among ministries and central authorities, agencies, and related organizations; intensify inspection, supervision, preliminary, and comprehensive review of the process of implementing the Plan.

At the same time, the viewpoints, objectives, tasks, and solutions of Directive 28-CT/TW in 2023 of the Politburo on strengthening child care, education, and protection to meet the demands of the prosperous and happy development of the country must be concretized for the ministries, central authorities, and local authorities according to their assigned functions and tasks to develop programs or plans and organize implementation effectively and synchronously.
