Responsibility for natural disaster prevention of mining areas in Vietnam

Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam promulgated Circular 13/2021/TT-BNNPTNT dated October 27, 2021 on protection meet the requirements of natural disaster prevention and control in the management, operation and use of mineral and other natural resource exploitation zones, urban areas, tourism, industry and historical relics; tourist destination; rural residential areas; works for natural disaster prevention and control, traffic, electricity, telecommunications and other technical infrastructure.

According to the Circular, stipulating the responsibilities of agencies, organizations and individuals managing, operating and using mineral exploitation zones, for example:

- Building and consolidating forces, assigning tasks to perform natural disaster prevention and control;

- Review, develop, and promulgate internal rules and regulations on operation in the management, operation and use of mineral mining zones, which must have contents that satisfy requirements on natural disaster prevention and control.

- Organizing training and training in natural disaster prevention and control skills;

- Review and identify key and critical areas for natural disaster prevention and control; develop a plan to protect the key and vital key (if any);

- Handling or coordinating to handle situations and activities that increase natural disaster risks; incidents or risks of incidents and overcoming consequences of natural disasters within the scope of management...

- Ensure financial resources for activities to meet the requirements of natural disaster prevention and control...
