Recently, the Prime Minister has issued Directive 34/CT-TTg on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe, and economical Lunar New Year Festival of the Year of the Pig 2019.

To adequately prepare the conditions for the public to welcome the New Year and the Lunar New Year Ky Hoi with joy, health, safety, and thrift, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam requires the Ministry of Public Security to perform the following tasks:

- Proactively grasp the global and regional situation related to national interests, allocate forces and means to protect key targets, locations, public areas, etc.;- Focus on combating and preventing schemes and activities against the hostile, reactionary, and opposing forces, and effectively implement the task of suppressing and apprehending criminals, etc.;- Strictly handle crimes such as robbery, theft, gambling, debt collection, drugs, counterfeit goods, prohibited goods, violations of food safety regulations, buying and storing fireworks, etc.

Additionally, there are other important tasks specified in detail in this Directive.
