Resolution 172/NQ-CP: Information technology to be applied in notarial activities in Vietnam?

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Resolution 172/NQ-CP on the policy for the development of the notarization profession.

The Government of Vietnam resolves to issue policies for the development of the notary profession with the objective of enhancing the application of information technology in notarial activities, meeting the requirements for building the e-Government of Vietnam and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To be specific:

- Complete the construction of the notarial database in accordance with the Law on Notarization to serve notarial activities, ensuring the sharing and connection of notarial information with other relevant sectors and fields;

- Develop and implement a plan to guide the connection and sharing of data on land, housing, businesses, and residents with the notarial database, ensuring interconnectedness between relevant Departments, agencies, and notarial practice organizations;

- Conduct pilot inter-agency procedures upon request by individuals and organizations for notarization, land use rights registration, and related assets and taxes to save time and costs in administrative procedures for individuals and organizations, and to help detect and prevent fraudulent transactions, legalize illicit transactions, and avoid revenue loss for the state budget;
