Researching to ensure adequate wages and benefits for medical staff in Vietnam is notable point specified in Resolution 99/2023/QH15 on 24/6/2023 thematic supervision on the mobilization, management and use of resources for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic; the implementation of policies and laws on grassroots health and preventive medicine.

Research to ensure adequate wages and benefits for medical staff in Vietnam

To overcome shortcomings and limitations in the management and use of resources for COVID-19 prevention and control,
perfect and well-implemented policies and laws on grassroots health and preventive medicine, ensuring a timely and effective response to similar epidemics.

The National Assembly asked the Government and the Prime Minister to direct ministries, branches, and localities to thoroughly grasp the lessons learned and urgently implement recommendations mentioned in Report 455/BC-DGS dated May 19, 2023 of the Monitoring Team, while at the same time focusing on implementing tasks and solutions, for example:

- Researching to ensure adequate salaries, allowances, and treatment regimes for medical staff in general, grassroots health care, and preventive medicine in particular, commensurate with the requirements of tasks and job characteristics according to the spirit of Resolution 27-NQ/TW 2018.

Localities are encouraged to adopt policies to attract medical staff to work at grassroots health centers and in the field of preventive medicine.

- Increasing health insurance premiums according to a roadmap consistent with the state budget balance and the people's ability to pay;

Researching to expand the list of medical examination and treatment services, the list of drugs, equipment, and medical supplies at grassroots health care facilities paid by the health insurance fund in proportion to the increase in health insurance coverage.

Timely settlement of problems in payment and settlement of medical examination and treatment expenses covered by health insurance.
