 Requirements when providing information to develop Press releases of legal documents of Vietnam from 2022

On November 1, 2021, the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam promulgated Circular 07/2021/TT-BTP to decide on the issuance of Press Releases on legal documents promulgated by the Government and the Prime Minister.

According to the Circular, the regulation that the drafting agency is responsible for providing information on legal documents drafted by their own agency has been promulgated by the Government and the Prime Minister in a month to the Ministry of Justice no later than the 5th of the following month to serve the formulation of the Press Release (according to the form in the Appendix issued together with Circular 07/2021 of Vietnam).

The information content clearly states the document's name, date, month and year of issue; agency issued; enforcement effect; the necessity or purpose of the promulgation; the main content of the legal documents.

(Currently, within 05 working days from the date the legal document of the Government and the Prime Minister is signed for promulgation, the drafting agency is responsible for sending information about the document to the Ministry of Justice by letter and e-mail).

Based on the information content of the provided document, the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam shall synthesize, edit the content, develop and issue a press release on legal documents issued by the Government or the Prime Minister no later than day 10 of the following month.
