Requirements for monitoring system for exploitation and use of water resources in Vietnam

On October 14, 2021, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam promulgated Circular 17/2021 / TT-BTNMT supervise exploitation and use of water resources.

According to the Circular, more detailed regulations on the monitoring system and components constituting the monitoring system for exploitation and use of water resources. Specifically, the monitoring system consists of 3 components:

1. Network infrastructure system, servers; software to manage permits, monitor the exploitation and use of water resources at central and local levels;

2. Database of the monitoring system, including: information on permits for shared water resources of central and local governments; gather information and data of measurement and observation of works on exploitation and use of water resources and other information and data for monitoring;

3. Instrumentation, connection, direct transmission and update of data from facilities that have works on exploitation and use of water resources into the monitoring database through the network infrastructure, servers and monitoring software.

Detailed requirements for each of the above components are listed sequentially in Articles 6, 7 and 8 of this Circular.
