Requirements for Measuring Instruments in Gas Trading

The Minister of Science and Technology has just issued Circular 20/2019/TT-BKHCN stipulating the measurement and quality in gas trading and the activities of announcing gas blending facilities in Vietnam.

Merchants engaging in gas trading must ensure that the measuring instruments used to ensure safety meet the following requirements:

- The measurement range is suitable for the quantity to be measured;- Have been inspected or calibrated at a registered, designated inspection and calibration organization, and within the valid period of the inspection or calibration certificate;- The metrological technical characteristics of the measuring instrument are in accordance with the metrological technical characteristics of the approved sample measuring instrument as prescribed;- Parts, details, and functions that can intervene to alter the primary metrological technical characteristics of the measuring instrument are sealed or lead-sealed by the inspection organization;- Installed, stored, and used in accordance with the manufacturer's and importer’s instructions.
