Requirements for means of transporting domestic solid waste

On January 10, 2022, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Circular 02/2022/TT-BTNMT detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Environmental Protection.

Accordingly, the technical requirements on environmental protection for vehicles transporting daily-life solid waste are as follows:

- Motor vehicles transporting daily-life solid waste must meet the requirements of technical safety and environmental protection according to the provisions of the law on transport. Specialized vehicles for pressing domestic solid waste must have a device to store leachate.

- Means of transporting daily-life solid waste must ensure that there is no drop of daily-life solid waste, leakage of leachate, or odor emission during transportation; must clean, spray deodorant before leaving the area of the transfer station, treatment facility and after completing the collection and transportation of domestic solid waste.

- Means of collecting daily-life solid waste from households and individuals to the gathering point or daily-life solid waste transfer station must ensure that no waste is dropped or water is leaked into the environment during operation. .

- Daily-life solid waste storage devices are fixed or removable on the means of transport and must ensure safe storage, are not damaged, broken, and do not soak or leak garbage water. release waste, odor into the environment.

Circular 02/2022/TT-BTNMT takes effect from January 10, 2022.
