Requirements for issuance of copies of civil status extracts

The Ministry of Justice has just issued Circular 01/2022/TT-BTP detailing a number of articles and measures to implement Decree 87/2020/ND-CP stipulating the electronic civil status database and registration online citizenship.

Accordingly, regulations on issuance of copies of civil status extracts are as follows:

- The person requesting the grant of a copy of the civil status extract or a copy of the birth certificate is responsible for fully and accurately providing the necessary information, including:

+ Name of civil status papers;

+ Number, date, month and year of registration and the agency that has registered the civil status work.

- In case the above information cannot be fully provided, the requester must provide basic information in the registered civil status papers in order to have a basis for searching.

Example : If you request a copy of the Marriage Extract but cannot provide the marriage certificate number, date, month, and year of marriage registration, you must provide information about your surname, middle name, first name, and date. , month and year of birth of husband and wife.

- In case the requester for the grant of a copy of the civil status extract or a copy of the birth certificate fails to provide sufficient information or provides inaccurate information, and the information cannot be looked up, the civil status registration agency shall refuse to provide the relevant information. to handle.

Circular 01/2022/TT-BTP takes effect from February 18, 2022.
