Request for Strict Action Against Criminal Acts Related to COVID-19

The Supreme People's Procuracy has recently issued Directive 03/CT-VKSTC on strengthening the practice of the right to prosecute and supervising judicial activities in handling crimes related to the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Chief Procurator of the Supreme People’s Procuracy requests the Heads of units under the Supreme People’s Procuracy, Chief Procurators of People’s Procuracies, and Military Procuracies at all levels to proactively cooperate with Investigation Agencies and Courts of the same level to detect and promptly, strictly handle criminal acts related to the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, such as:

- Failure to comply strictly with regulations on epidemic prevention and control, leading to the spread of the epidemic to the community;- Violating regulations in crowded places causing damage due to the incurred cost of Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control from VND 100,000,000 or more;- Disseminating fabricated or false information about the epidemic causing panic and worry in society or aiming to oppose the State;- Taking advantage of the epidemic situation to commit unlawful acts for profit;- Resisting officials on duty.
