Reporting regime of prize-rewarding electronic games for foreigners in Vietnam

Governor of SBV (State Bank of Vietnam issued Circular 09/2022/TT-NHNN dated 12/7/2022 stipulating guidance on foreign exchange management for prize-winning video game business for foreigners.

The reporting regime of prize-winning game businesses for foreigners in Vietnam is as follows:

Quarterly, before the 10th (tenth) of the first month of the following quarter, enterprises must report in writing, sent directly or via postal service to:

- State Bank of Vietnam(Foreign Exchange Management Department);

- State Bank branches in provinces and cities in the locality where the enterprise locates prize-winning electronic game points for foreigners.

In addition, regulations on report content include:

The situation of foreign currency receipts and expenditures and other foreign exchange activities is made according to the form in Appendix 03 issued together with Vietnam's Circular 09/2022/TT-NHNN.

The closing time for reporting data is calculated from the 15th day of the month before the reporting period to the 14th day of the last month of the reporting period in Vietnam. (New point)

Circular 09/2022/TT-NHNN takes effect on September 1, 2022, replacing Circular 15/2014/TT-NHNN and Circular 11/2017/TT-NHNN.
