Regulations on Visiting at Detention Facilities in the Military

On March 12, 2018, the Ministry of National Defense promulgated Circular 27/2018/TT-BQP issuing the Internal Regulations of Detention Facilities in the People's Army.

The subjects visiting and working with detainees at the detention facilities must comply with the regulations and present the following documents:

For relatives:

- Request for visit (with confirmation of relationship with the detainee);- One of the following personal identification documents: Citizen Identification Card (CCCD), ID Card (CMND), Military Identification, or Passport;- In case of no personal identification documents, the request form must be affixed with a photo and stamped.

For defense lawyers:

- Notification document of defense counsel;- One of the following personal identification documents: Lawyer card, Legal aid assistant card, ID Card (CMND), Citizen Identification Card (CCCD), or Passport.

For proceeding officers:

- Assignment decision or introduction letter;- One of the following personal identification documents: Certificate from investigation, prosecution, or court department; ID Card (CMND), Military Identification, Citizen Identification Card (CCCD), or Passport.
