Regulations on the System of statistical indicators for the Finance sector in Vietnam

Regulations on the Financial Industry Statistical Indicator System are a set of statistical indicators that reflect the situation and main operating results of the Finance sector and the basic characteristics of the managed objects of the Finance sector to serve the direction and administration of the Finance sector and State agencies; assessment, forecasting, strategic planning, and policy development in management areas of the Finance sector; and meet the needs of exchanging and sharing financial statistical information according to the provisions of the Law on Statistics and documents guiding the Law on Statistics.

The system of statistical indicators for the Finance industry includes:

- List of financial sector statistical indicators specified in Appendix I issued with Circular 03/2024/TT-BTC;

- The content of financial sector statistical indicators is specified in Appendix II issued with Circular 03/2024/TT-BTC.

Circular 03/2024/TT-BTC applies to the following subjects:

- Units belonging to and directly under the Ministry of Finance.

- Department of Finance of provinces and centrally run cities.

- Other agencies and organizations related to the financial sector statistical indicator system.

Regulations on the responsibilities of the Department of Financial Informatics and Statistics (Ministry of Finance of Vietnam)

- Take charge of synthesizing the statistical information specified in the Financial Sector Statistical Indicator System;

- Disseminate financial statistical information in accordance with the provisions of Article 49 of the Law on Statistics 2015, Decree 94/2016/ND-CP, and regulations on the information security regime of the Finance sector;

- Preside over building an information technology application system to serve the collection, synthesis, storage, and exploitation of information from the financial sector statistical indicator system;

- Preside and coordinate with relevant units to report to the Minister of Finance to amend and supplement the System of statistical indicators of the Finance sector in accordance with the actual situation, in accordance with the provisions of law, and in accordance with international practices;

- Take responsibility for guiding, checking the situation, and reporting the results of implementing the financial sector statistical indicator system.
