Regulations on the Preservation of Physical Evidence that are Toxic Substances in the Military

On May 26, 2017, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 135/2017/TT-BQP regulating the management and preservation of evidence that is toxic substances and evidence requiring special preservation conditions within the Military.

Regulations on the management and preservation of the following evidence:

- Toxic substances;- Bacteria, viruses;- Harmful parasites;- Blood samples;- Human tissues, body parts;- Vaccines;- Other medical evidence related to the Military.

In which:

- The chemical warehouse under the Chemical Department of military zones, the Naval Command, and Hanoi Command are responsible for managing and preserving evidence that is toxic substances;- The Military Preventive Medicine Institute, Military Preventive Medicine Centers are responsible for managing and preserving evidence that is bacteria, viruses, harmful parasites; vaccines;- The Military Forensic Institute, military hospitals are responsible for managing and preserving evidence that is blood samples, tissues, body parts, and other related medical evidence.

Circular 135/2017/TT-BQP takes effect from July 20, 2017.
