Regulations on the organizational structure of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences from March 1, 2025

The organizational structure of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences from March 1, 2025, is as follows:

(1) Organization and Personnel Department.

(2) Finance and Scientific Management Department.

(3) International Cooperation Department.

(4) Office.

(5) Institute of State and Law.

(6) Institute of Philosophy.

(7) Institute for Research on Humans, Family, and Gender.

(8) Institute of Culture Studies.

(9) Institute of Ethnography and Religious Studies.

(10) Institute of History.

(11) Institute of Literature.

(12) Institute of Linguistics.

(13) Institute of Sociology and Psychology.

(14) Institute for Asia-Pacific Research.

(15) Institute for South Asia, West Asia, and Africa Studies.

(16) Institute for European and American Studies.

(17) Institute of Vietnamese and World Economy.

(18) Institute of Human Geography and Sustainable Development.

(19) Institute of Social Sciences in the Central and Central Highlands Regions.

(20) Institute of Social Sciences in the Southern Region.

(21) Institute of Archaeology.

(22) Institute of Han - Nom Studies.

The units specified from (1) to (4) are professional units serving the President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. The Office is organized into 10 departments.

The units specified from (5) to (23) are public scientific and technological organizations.

The units specified from (24) to (26) are other public service providers.

The President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences stipulates the functions, duties, powers, and organizational structure of the affiliated and attached units.

From March 1, 2025, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences is an agency under the Government of Vietnam, tasked with researching fundamental issues in social sciences; providing scientific grounds for the Communist Party and the State in formulating guidelines, strategies, planning, plans, and policies for rapid and sustainable development of the country, serving socio-economic development under socialist orientation; advising on development policy in the field of social sciences; training human resources in social sciences according to legal provisions.
