Regulations on selecting locations for automatic hydrometeorological stations in Vietnam as of February 15, 2024

The selection of locations for automatic hydrometeorological stations in Vietnam as of February 15, 2024, will comply with the provisions of Article 4 of Circular 29/2023/TT-BTNMT, specifically as follows:

- Automatic station belongs to the national hydro-meteorological station network; select station location according to regulations in national standards on hydro-meteorological monitoring works:

+ Automatic surface meteorological station according to regulations in TCVN 12635-1:2019 Hydrometeorological monitoring works - Part 1: Location and monitoring works for surface meteorological stations;

+ High-altitude meteorological station according to regulations in TCVN 12635-4:2021 Hydro-meteorological monitoring works - Part 4: Locations and monitoring works for high-altitude meteorological stations, ozone - ultraviolet radiation, and weather radar;

+ Weather radar station as prescribed in TCVN 12635-4:2021 Hydrometeorological monitoring works - Part 4: Locations and monitoring works for high-altitude meteorological stations, ozone - ultraviolet radiation, and weather radar;

+ Automatic hydrological station according to regulations in TCVN 12635-2:2019 Hydrometeorological monitoring works - Part 2: Location and monitoring works for hydrological stations;

+ Automatic oceanographic station according to regulations in TCVN 12635-3:2019 Hydrometeorological monitoring works - Part 3: Location and monitoring works for oceanographic stations;

+ Automatic rain measuring station as prescribed in TCVN 12635-1:2019 Hydrometeorological monitoring works - Part 1: Location and monitoring works for surface meteorological stations;

+ Lightning location station according to technical regulations on thunderstorm and lightning monitoring;

+ Automatic radiation station according to regulations in TCVN 12636-4:2020 Hydro-meteorological monitoring - Part 4: Solar radiation monitoring;

+ Automatic salinity measurement station as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 7 of Circular 39/2016/TT-BTNMT;

+ Automatic reference meteorological station, automatic reference hydrographic station, automatic reference oceanographic station: Follow the regulations of surface meteorological stations, hydrological stations, and oceanographic stations selected as reference stations.

- Specialized automatic station of a project requiring hydrometeorological monitoring specified in Clause 1, Article 1 of Decree 48/2020/ND-CP: Follow the provisions of Clause 2, Article 1 of Decree 48/2020/ND-CP, and Clause 2, Article 8 of Circular 13/2023/TT-BTNMT.
