Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 04/2019/ND-CP regulating the standards and norms for the use of automobiles.

The maximum purchase price of cars for general use by agencies and organizations is stipulated to be 720 million VND.

In cases where it is necessary to purchase a 4WD car due to frequent travel to mountainous areas, islands, or areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions as prescribed by the Government of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam, or cars with a seating capacity of 12 to 16 passengers, the maximum purchase price is 1,100 million VND per car.

The purchase price of the aforementioned cars is inclusive of all taxes as stipulated by law; however, it does not include the registration fee, license plate issuance fee, insurance fee, inspection fee, or road maintenance fee related to the use of the car.

In cases where cars are exempt from taxes, the exempted tax amount must be included in the purchase price to determine the standards and norms.
