On March 21, 2016, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 05/2016/TT-BGDDT stipulating the probationary period for teachers and lecturers based on their professional titles.

- 9 months for secondary school and high school teachers.

- 12 months for lecturers.

- Time under temporary detention, custody, or suspension according to legal regulations.
