Regional General Clinic Not Permitted for Inpatient Care

According to the directive of the Ministry of Health in Official Dispatch 618/BYT-KCB, regional polyclinics are only permitted to perform functions of emergency care, outpatient examination, and treatment.

Accordingly:

- Regional polyclinics that have not been assigned inpatient treatment responsibilities must cease inpatient treatment activities from January 25, 2018;- Regional polyclinics that have been assigned inpatient bed quotas or responsibilities may continue inpatient treatment until January 31, 2018.

Simultaneously, the Department of Health is responsible for reviewing and reorganizing the organization and operation of regional polyclinics according to three options:

- Convert regional polyclinics into hospitals;- Convert regional polyclinics into inpatient treatment units of provincial general hospitals, district hospitals, or district health centers;- Remaining regional polyclinics: Cease inpatient treatment from January 31, 2018, and only provide emergency, outpatient examination, and treatment according to current regulations.
